Year 11 have been working very hard remotely in their final GCSE year and in the middle of a global pandemic, in such challenging times it’s important for students to also take care of their mental health and wellbeing. During Children’s Mental Health Week students were provided with wellbeing activities in addition to the weekly Wellbeing Wednesday session which is run by Miss Moylan. Students had access to exercise videos, creative mindfulness colouring, motivational speakers and given lots of places to contact for support should they be struggling with their mental health.
We wanted to help our students to use the half term holiday to take a moment to relax, take a break from screen time, and take some time for themselves, so at the end of last half term, students were each gifted a reading book of their choice to enjoy over the break and a baking kit to make with their families. Students really enjoyed their wellbeing packs and sent us photos of their bakes, many were impressed with how well their brownies turned out and enjoyed having an activity to do which wasn’t online!
