To support pupils who may be self isolating or off school for periods of time we will continue distanced learning. We have made the decision to move to MS Teams as this software has a larger variety of tools which can be used to support pupils learning at home such as: quiz functions, teacher feedback, assignments, class notebook and a files storage for teachers to upload lessons and videos. If students have to work at home for any length of time, due to self isolation or household isolation, they will be able to use MS Teams to access the work to enable them to keep up with their learning. If the situation occurs that the school has to close partially or fully during the Autumn term, then we have planned for the distance learning programme to recommence. To help students feel more prepared for this students have received an initial introduction lesson to MS Teams and teachers will start to set homework through this.
When using Microsoft Teams:
- We recommend that students follow their usual school timetable as this allows a good spread and variety of all subjects and supports organising learning at home.
- Step by step instructions for logging onto MS Teams are included in the information flyer below and students have received an introduction to MS Teams lesson in school.
- Further additional lessons with video explanations and quizzes can be accessed via the following link and are available for all subjects https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-key-stage/key-stage-4
