At Newall Green High School, we place a high priority on homework. The new, more rigorous GCSEs mean that students need to learn the skills required to work independently. We also know that being an independent worker – someone who can get on with a task without needing lots of support – is also highly valued by employers.
Some students will need extra support with completing their homework. This can be for lots of different reasons: they might need someone to help with their reading or understanding a task; they might need to use the school’s computers and internet access; they might need somewhere quiet to work.
WE OFFER MORE HOMEWORK CLUBS EACH DAY THAN ANY OTHER SCHOOL IN MANCHESTER!
Homework club is available at the following times:
- 7.30am – 8.30am every morning in DT1.
- Every lunchtime in the library.
- 3pm – 3.45pm after school every day in DT1.
- 3pm – 3.45pm after school every day in the library.
We have a fantastic team of dedicated teachers and teaching assistants who staff these homework clubs so you have the comfort of knowing that there is always a fully-qualified professional on hand to support your child.
