Apprentice Providers and Colleges
We work with over 30 Apprentice Providers and Colleges to support our students progression along their profession pathway. Our partners support our careers events, run workshops and provide students’ with support and guidance.
BW3 is a group of businesses and community groups working together to improve the lives of those in the area, whilst supporting change for the good in Wythenshawe. BW3 supports a range of initiatives that create mutual benefit to business and the community and it facilitates shared progress and promotes enterprise.
Newall Green are a member of BW3 and part of their mentoring project; students in our Sixth Form attend weekly meetings with mentors from a range of business in the area to develop their employability skills.
BW3 support Newall Green in the development of relationships with local businesses.
Mosaic’s secondary school mentoring programme provides a package of opportunities to raise the aspirations of young people and close the gap between those aspirations and their attainment.
Once a month every student in the Sixth Form takes part in a group mentoring session with representatives from local business. The sessions focus on skills for employment, self-esteem and professional development.
The National Trust are supporters of our CEAIG programme, attending a variety of events to develop student awareness of the different careers that can be pursued within the National Trust. They also provide a range of sector experiences across a number of professions on their site.
One Advice Group
The One Advice Group is one of the region’s largest employers with over 500 staff members in the North West.
The Group incorporates Harrington Brooks (Accountants) Ltd, one of the UK’s leading debt solution providers.
One Advice helps students at Newall Green understand how to manage finance and the implications of debt. They also support our CEIAG programme, delivering CV writing workshops, mock interviews and hosting World of Work Days.
Sodexho is the worldwide leader in Quality of Life services. For over 50 years, they have developed unique expertise, backed by nearly 425,000 employees in 80 countries across the globe. Sodexo is the only company to integrate a complete offer of innovative services, based on over 100 professions.
Sodexho have directly recruited students from Newall Green for their apprenticeship programme and are working closely with our current students to help develop their skills and knowledge. Sodexho support our CEIAG programme and employer encounter events.
The Careers and Enterprise Company
Newall Green is working with The Careers and Enterprise Company to develop its CEIAG strategy and the way it engages with businesses. We have secured a place on the pilot of the Greater Manchester Enterprise Adviser Network.
The Enterprise Adviser Network pairs senior business volunteers with schools and colleges to build employer engagement plans. The purpose of the network is to create powerful, lasting connections between local businesses and the schools and colleges in their area.
Unite in Schools is a national programme run by the union which aims to teach school students about the role of trade unions in the workplace. The programme is targeted at years 10 and 11 and can be linked into the National Curriculum under Citizenship for Key Stage 4. Sessions are also delivered to students in Sixth Form, where Unite are supporting the formation of our Student Union.
Unite in Schools is being delivered by members of Unite, usually work place representatives, who have been trained to deliver the programme and to facilitate debate in the classroom. The Unite in Schools speakers outline how trade unions work to improve the pay and terms and conditions of their members - as well as protecting workers against bullying or discrimination
Unite also attend our Careers and Apprenticeship Fairs, support HAP events, employability sessions and mock interviews.
University Hospital of South Manchester (UHSM)
University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital services and community services across South Manchester and beyond. They have 950 beds and employ around 5,900 members of staff.
UHSM provides our students with a range of sector experiences across their site. They also host a range of visits to their sites in various departments to give students insight into the different careers in the NHS.
UHSM also supports our CPD programme, providing staff with a range of training opportunities. They are also avid supports our CEIAG programme.
