We have an outstanding team of staff who are united in encouraging students to achieve their individual curriculum targets and develop respect and consideration for others. This means that expectations about achievement are high, and that all students are actively supported to believe that they can achieve. We are committed to producing optimistic young people who feel in control of their lives. We place a high value on our relationship with students and their parents and carers, and appreciate the importance of this relationship if success is to be achieved by all. We run a fully inclusive school and recognize that everyone has a vital part to play in developing the school.
I am especially proud to inform you all that we have opened our own 6th form. We have over one hundred students registered and I expect the same success and expansion with the sixth form as we have had with the 11-16 school. The excellent transition links with our partner primary schools continues and helps to ensure a smooth transfer from key stage 2.
The school has entered a hard federation with Benchill Primary school and we are all really excited by the opportunities this will offer the community. We are still working very closely with Newall Green and Baguley Hall Primary schools, both at staffing, curriculum, pastoral support and governing body level.
Our Enterprise, Global Citizenship and Pastoral support programmes give great breadth to the experience of all students. The exam profile for each student has risen and the improvement and extension of our teaching facilities will further improve results. As a community school, these resources are made available for community use through our own leisure centre.
