Our Art Department is staffed by 4 teachers and a technician. We deliver Art to Years 7, 8 and 9 for one hour a week. The students cover an array of themes, including architecture, natural forms and Aboriginal Art. We explore different materials and techniques like painting, printing, 3-D card construction and collage. At Key Stage 3, the students are provided with sketchbooks and homework books, as homework is set every two weeks.
At Key Stage 4 we offer GCSE Art and Design, where students opt to do this subject. We offer a vast range of materials, skills and techniques, many of which are a further development of Key Stage 3 skills. Other techniques include wire sculptures, felt-making, screen printing and ceramics.
Our department offers an extensive range of clubs throughout the year; these include photography GCSE, animation, ceramics and Batik which are open to all students and GCSE art clubs aimed at GCSE Art students.
